Citizen water observations

Atlas TX's public-record stack (SDWIS, TCEQ, EJScreen, ACS) remains the authoritative water-risk source. This lane is a separate community-observation layer for prototyping smartphone-strip submissions. The current default profile targets a JED Pool Tools 5-way pool/spa strip and stores approximate banded observations only. It does not feed the Drinking Water Risk Score and is not a compliance or diagnostic instrument.

See docs/research/smartphone-colorimetry.md for the project's framing and the non-negotiables that govern this layer.

Android app: Atlas TX CaptureSame flow, native camera. Build from source — no APK released yet.

Capture a strip

  1. Dip your strip per the kit instructions and wait the full incubation time.
  2. Lay the strip next to its bottle's color chart in the same frame.
  3. Photograph in daylight, flat surface, no flash, no shadows on the strip.
