Citizen water observations
Atlas TX's public-record stack (SDWIS, TCEQ, EJScreen, ACS) remains the authoritative water-risk source. This lane is a separate community-observation layer for prototyping smartphone-strip submissions. The current default profile targets a JED Pool Tools 5-way pool/spa strip and stores approximate banded observations only. It does not feed the Drinking Water Risk Score and is not a compliance or diagnostic instrument.
See docs/research/smartphone-colorimetry.md for the project's framing and the non-negotiables that govern this layer.
Capture a strip
- Dip your strip per the kit instructions and wait the full incubation time.
- Lay the strip next to its bottle's color chart in the same frame.
- Photograph in daylight, flat surface, no flash, no shadows on the strip.
